credo

I believe in one Sun the rain
Sun bones filled
with Moon the noon
Sun of white shadow the blue
dusk Sun
the Sun whose hair is tangled with foam the thunder
Sun pushing
through the desert’s floor with obsidian
eyes
bones
of petrified wood & agate
the gentle Sun who ripples
the koi’s muddy sky & unfolds
the wild
iris

I believe in one Sun dancing
on the saxophone’s dark
glasses singing
the bamboo’s tongue the drum
Sun
of pierced flesh & eagle bone
whistle

I believe in the black
Sun who balances
on my finger
the blind Sun who tricks
us through winter
the ice
Sun we cup
from white
streams to cool
our burning
faces
